Job Description:

Detailed oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Network Test Engineer to be involved with all Quality Assurance activities including LTE and 5G Field Protocol, SIM OTA activation testing. The main function of a QA mobile engineer is to develop and executing test strategies, plans, and validating UE functionality in on 4G/5G air interface and call processing technology. Ensuring UE (user equipment) is meeting QA and Carrier requirements. The typical QA mobile test engineer will be responsible for performing detailed analysis of 4G and 5G protocols including field testing with mobile handset devices in live network.

Required Skills:

  1. Candidate should have performed LTE and NR feature testing
  2. Candidate should know LTE and NR call flows such that document referencing is not needed.
  3. Candidate has actually testing experience (No RF Optimization, No Performance Optimization candidates)
  4. Candidate should be independent and have the attitude to figure out if any issues.
  5. Detailed understanding on LTE concepts such as DL/UL scheduling, LTE power control, Beamforming fundamentals, MIMO.
  6. Detailed understanding of 5G NR concepts such as SA, NSA operations, DSS, Network Slicing
  7. Experience with ongoing 3GPP Rel activities is required
  8. Experience with system testing activities such as feature validation, test description documentation, parameter optimization, performance analysis, test strategy creation, problem troubleshooting
  9. Experience with RAN testing
  10. Experience with Network Virtualization
  11. Strong knowledge in 4G and 5G air interface and call processing technologies and network architecture specifically focused on Radio Access Network
  12. Detailed understanding of overall Wireless systems with emphasis on PHY, MAC, RLC, RRC and PDCP layers

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing solutions specific to IT data.
  2. Work directly with Enterprise Data Analytics (EDA) Data Architecture, Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) Systems Architects, and IT business partners to understand the requirements
  3. Work very closely with business analysts, development teams and project managers for requirements and business rules.
  4. Partner with source system Subject Matter Experts (SME)s, Architects, Data Analysts and Modelers to build scalable and performant data solutions.
  5. Effectively communicate data design to other members of the team to ensure proper implementation and utilization of the data structures.
  6. Plan, perform, and act as the escalation point for the most complex platform designs, coding, and testing
  7. Effectively work in an ETL framework driven environment
  8. Support ongoing data management efforts for Development, QA and Production environments
  9. Experience with design simulation tool or equivalent – Agilent ADS, HFSS, APD, Capture, Cadence, Orcad
  10. Product Realization Process (PRP) – General understanding of how to take a project from concept to production.
  11. Responsible for development of test plan and test cases for product validation, feature validation, systems and performance analysis, customer review sessions for 5G/LTE RAN products focusing on Air interface, E2E performance, and Call Processing.
  12. Analyzing the product and feature requirements, converting them into system test cases and execution to ensure product meets customer spec.
  13. Responsible for development of product requirements, feature requirements, systems and performance analysis, conduct deep-dive customer sessions on 4G/5G Call processing related features and air interface technologies.
  14. Analyzing the customer requirements, converting then into system requirements and capturing of detail design for the development team for all network product features.
  15. Responsible for leading all technical discussions on network products/scheduler related features with several customer vertical organization including 4G/5G RAN Development groups and RAN performance groups.
  16. Author technical proposals, technical research and white papers, design documents, Operator network design, RFI/RFP, and Patent filings.

Qualification:

  1. A bachelor’s degree in Telecom/Electronics/Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics discipline.
  2. 5+ years of solution design experience with application development and implementation experience
  3. Familiarity or expert in utilizing UE log post processing tools (QXDM, QCAT, Wireshark, ShannonDM) with good understanding in OTA signaling messages is a plus.

Able to analyze and debug IMS related features including but not limited to registration, VoLTE/VoWiFi/ViLTE/Conferencing/SMS/MMS/RCS is a plus.
