Job Description:

We are looking for talented, driven, self-starter individuals to join our Telcom Systems Business Unit (TSB) engineering team. This role requires a demonstrated ability to conduct solution development, architecture, end-to-end solution validation, automation and delivery for our Telcom products, solutions and services offerings. We create products and solutions catering to the worldwide telecommunications market, which is exploding with new and exciting opportunities offered by new developments such as 5G, Internet of Things, and open radio access networks (ORANs). The market consists of communication service providers, managed service providers, hosting companies, content delivery network companies, cloud service providers, and consumer/enterprise web-technology providers

Required Skills:

  1. Design, validate and optimize telecom architectural solutions with cloud-native infrastructure for 5G Core and Open RAN network functions
  2. Drive open telecom ecosystem interop testing based on O-RAN conformance specifications and end-to-end validation of O-RAN solutions
  3. Provide technical leadership on network design, solution integration and end-to-end solution validation of 5G and Open RAN solutions for Telco customers
  4. Act as a technical expert for 5G network workloads deployed across the hybrid cloud, core, edge, and radio technologies
  5. Solve complex problems independently through requirements gathering, industry research and collaboration with existing assets
  6. Foster a collaborative relationship with partners to develop, communicate and present architectures, solutions, and strategies to meet the customer’s needs
  7. Work with extended teams; project management, product management, partners, services, and other BUs to drive integration and adoption of Dell product within partner ecosystem and create a better application integration

Responsibilities:

  1. Proven record of working on large mobile network systems either as a member of technical staff of a network equipment provider or radio technology provider
  2. Expert in eNodeB/gNodeB solution development, validation, optimization and lifecycle management
  3. Detailed understanding of 3GPP specifications as related to CU and DU and RU. Exposure & knowledge of O-RAN specs, TIP/Open RAN projects, and/or ONF SD-RAN.
  4. Strong knowledge in 5G Radio and subsystems architecture, implementation and ecosystem
  5. In-depth technical knowledge and experience in designing and deploying Telco networks using cloud-native solutions. Demonstrable experience and expertise in automation, performance, lifecycle management, public/hybrid cloud architectures
  6. Extensive experience in solution development and validation including Telco Cloud Platform, RAN, Open RAN/O-RAN, LTE/4G and 5G deployments, OSS/BSS, platform models such as NFV and distributed/federated edge platforms (e.g. ETSI MEC)
  7. In-depth knowledge and expertise in setting test scenarios, profiles, including performance, scale and resiliency related towards deployment worthy validated solutions
  8. Extensive experience in CI/CD production pipelines and development tool experience such as – Jira, Perfecto, Pivotal Tracker, Concourse, Jenkins, and Docker. Understanding of cloud-based software technology landscapes and DevOps ecosystems.
  9. Strong communication skills and an ability to articulate technical vision while understanding business requirements. The ability to collaborate even when there are difference within the team members.
  10. Advanced understanding of telco system dimensioning, performance, debugging and troubleshooting complex solutions.
  11. Experience in collaborating with customers to understand the problem statement/use cases and mapping them to tangible technical requirements
  12. Self-motivated, enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate about technology and working as a part of a team. Experience working with cross-functional architectural teams
  13. Experience with telecom systems and protocols (SIP, RTP, PSTN)
  14. Experience troubleshooting carrier and various connectivity issues both IP and TDM
  15. Solid understanding of the Linux Operating System
  16. Excellent TCP/IP networking fundamentals
  17. Excellent troubleshooting skills with a focus on root cause and prevention
  18. Must have excellent communication and documentation skills
  19. Expertise in many of the following technologies and protocols: BGP, OSPF, SIP, RTP, IP, TCP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, T1/E1, Ethernet, firewalls, IT security best practices
  20. Multi-vendor SIP Interop testing and troubleshooting
  21. Experience with open-source VoIP systems like Asterisk, Free-Switch, SIPp, SER, etc
  22. Software development experience
  23. Understanding of Software development process

Qualification:

  1. A bachelor’s degree in Telecom/Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering.

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Telecom network/systems design and deployment, software development and network testing or network architecture, or solution development and validation experience in telecom/networking industry.
